The Laser Helmet works both for Men and for Women

Laser Helmet has 128 medical diodes lasers and is a low-level laser light therapy to improve cellular respiration and function by stimulating the hair follicle cells. Better breathing cells make for a better functioning hair follicle, and produces a happier, healthier hair!

Laser Helmet is backed by experts in the fields of science, medicine, and technology, which helps give our clients the best results possible.

The initial step is to make an appointment with a Laser Helmet specialist (Diva Hair in Winnipeg). The specialist will make a hair assessment, and provide the Laser Helmet and usage instructions. Typically the Laser Helmet is worn 20 – 30 minutes, for 2-3 sessions per week, with results starting to be noticeable in 12 weeks. Follow-up visits are highly recommended and important to monitor progress. Laser Helemet can also be used with other treatments, including PRP (platelet rich plasma) therapy and hair transplantation.

Insurance: Diva Hair supplies a full invoice breakdown for your insurance company, to potentially get reimbursed for the cost of the laser helmet. Or the invoice may be used as a prescription to write off health expenses on personal taxes, if you've been diagnosed with hair loss,  alopecia or thyroid problems.

Who Suffers from Hair Loss?

Hair loss affects millions of women worldwide. Baldness (technically known as alopecia) can be caused by alopecia areata, an autoimmune disorder, by fungal infection, traumatic damage, such as by compulsive pulling, as a result of chemotherapy, and as a result of nutritional deficiencies such as Iron deficiency.

Women have between 100,000 and 150,000 hairs on their head. The number of strands normally lost in a day varies, but on average is 100. In order to maintain a normal volume, hair must be replaced at the same rate at which it is lost. The first signs of hair thinning that women will often notice are more hairs than usual left in the hairbrush after brushing or in the basin after shampooing.

Psychological Effect of Hair Loss

Hair thinning and baldness cause psychological stress due to their effect on appearance. Hair is considered an essential part of overall identity: especially for women, for whom it often represents femininity and attractiveness. Although they may be aware of pattern baldness in their family, many are uncomfortable talking about the issue.
For sufferers, it can represent a loss of control and feelings of isolation. Women experiencing female hair loss often find themselves in a situation where their physical appearance is at odds with their own self-image and commonly worry that they appear older than they are or less attractive to others.

Female pattern hair loss and “thinning” are statistically common among women after the age of 40.
However, little is known about how this symptom of the normal aging process affects women psychologically, and in turn how those adverse effects, if any, express themselves in their daily lives.

Over the years, there has been a considerable amount of anecdotal evidence from treating physicians that women who suffer from hair loss tend be socially isolated, suffer a serious decline in self-esteem and allow this issue to impact their daily routines and even their careers. This evidence has rarely
been formally analyzed or documented, however, so the true status of women with this condition has not been well understood.
